Rainer Konietschke received his Dipl.-Ing. degree in mechanical engineering from the Technical University of Munich in 2002 and his master’s degree from the Ecole Centrale Paris. Since then, he has been working at the Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics, DLR, in the field of medical robotics, kinematics, optimization, and optimal surgery planning. He received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Munich in 2007. He has participated in several national and international projects, including AccuRobAs, SFB-453, Naviped, and Mirosurge
